I have the 70-300VR and it a pretty good lens. I think it a good one in your price range.... but I just ordered the sigma 70-200f2.8 i'll see if I notice the deference if not it's going back!

^ i really would love to however there is now were to rent it here in wyoming...in fact there is not much of anything here... i see if I can find a company the will mail rentals but i doubt i'll find one.

at this point i am thinking the sigma b/c it has OS and prob. and good IQ as the 80-200 but lets see how I feel tomorrow... no rush but I would like to decided in the next week.

this is a very good question I am interested in seeing what ppl say.... for me it's the 18-55VR I have the 55-300 but don't seam to use it all the much. thought it was going to be my 35 f1.8 but got a bad copy :(

^ yeah i hear you I also do wildlife living here in wyoming there is more animals than ppl....so it's easy to find "subjects" to pose for you. been thinking about sigma "bigma" lens would love to try it out. maybe some day...
