Hi all-
A celeb I shot wants to license some of the images I shot of him. This is my first foray into the world of photo licensing. Does anyone have any recs for a good licensing agreement or any words of advice? I'm assuming he's going to want to use the images for his site and for publicity...
What a spirited debate. I'm thankful to all of you who gave good advice, (and insulted by others), but that's okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm heading off to B&H tomorrow, and I will post what I get. Thanks!
Hi all-
I'm upgrading from my D70, after my camera crashed to the floor during a shoot (damn sync cord!). What would be your recs for a good Nikon used primarily for portraits and fashion? I want to make an investment now and not have to upgrade in a year. I'm looking at the D3X, but I've seen...
Thank you again to everyone who responded. I'll let you know if I repair, upgrade or both. I really should have a second body when I go on shoots, anyway. :)
I formatted two cards, thinking that maybe I fried one. It's not capturing on either card. There were signs, though, that something was awry. When I last used the camera, some of the images were coming out purple, and some came out completely corrupted (broken into four quadrants, and purple...
Hi everyone-
I just took out my D70 to take some shots, and while the AF is working, the flash is firing, the image is not coming up in the LCD, nor is the counter number changing. I changed memory cards, thinking that it was defective, but the camera is doing this with other cards, too. Is...
No, I didn't write that. I wrote, "I think the language scares them..." There's quite a difference between that and "scary language".
And I agree with you that people should not sign something they are not comfortable with. My point is that there isn't anything in the release that goes beyond...
This has become an interesting debate, and I can't believe that my release problem was the impetus for it! Now, my dear friend Plato, the way you have reworded my original post makes me out to be the big bad wolf. By writing that, "the models were somehow obligated to sign whatever contract she...
Thanks! I think I'm just going to reword the release and take out the scary language (without taking away my rights as a photographer), and follow the advice here to get it signed before we start. I'll just chalk these two people up to a bad experience, learn from it and move on.
Thanks to...
Okay, I'm sure this is not going to go over well, but it's a release, not a contract. (And I know you're all going to say that a release is a contract. I just don't think it should be a big deal for them. It's a standard release.) The release basically states that the images are mine, I can...
It's not that I don't want them to read it. In fact, after I shoot the last shot, I give it to them, tell them to read through it, ask me any questions, and then sign it. I think the language scares them, and then they panic. If I send it to them ahead of time, they will either come in with a...
