rhyolite has been on my list of places to visit for a few years now. you got some great shots out there, love the b&w tones.

i just started trying the wide af system on the new sony. i'm not too sure what sort of witchcraft it's using to focus on exactly what i want it...
the camera focused on the bird like you asked, just not the eye. ;) but good captures nonetheless.

i like the limpkin the best, but i got a chuckle out of the first. it looks like one bird with two heads at first glance.
my thoughts exactly. it was the first thing i noticed because of the vertical line of windows running so close to the edge of the frame.
