Thanks Helen B,
I guess what I am looking for is an exact copy of what i see in my minds eye if you like. It seems to me that unless your intention is to create a work of contemporary art, that images just remind you of what you have seen, not copy what you actually see. Can you set your camera...
Listen I'm not a wiz kid on computers or digital photography so be gentle wise guys. All I want is some advise. Can you run the two programs side by side or dose one cancel out the other? Which of the two programs is the best? or is there something else that is better than both? Maybe some of...
I normally use iPhoto on my MAC with my previous little P&S now I have this new Nikon d5100 which has a software disc for ViewNX 2. Is there much difference in the two programs? or do I just carry on using iPhoto?
Can anybody tell me if this lens is compatible with a D5100, and is it any good? I searched for Nikon lenses and this was among the results.

Have a look at these see what you think I have one of the £99-00, 70-300 seems OK but I haven't had the pleasure of using higher end 70-300s so don't take my word for it. I'm sure some one will advise on if they are any good mine came in a package deal with my camera.

Well Gav, I am looking through the viewfinder eye piece at minimum (18mm) zoom and I think TonyS has explained it. It gives a wider angle and so makes things look smaller than with normal vision. By zooming in I mean slowly increasing the zoom up to 55mm. Things start to look more normal. Hope...
Me again Hi,
Now remember this is a beginners forum so here goes. Why is it when you look through an optical lens things look smaller and further away than with the naked eye? until you zoom in. Its like looking through the wrong end of a telescope.
Thanks every one,
I'm beginning to understand things a bit more clearly now. Digital zoom and optical zoom thats really really minute basic stuff to you guys but new to me so forgive my total ignorance. The results i was getting with my P&S were very poor at maximum zoom plus cropping. They were...
