Thanks for looking.
Let me know how you like it!
Thanks. I took that this past Sunday!
Hahah. She's already twice as big. They don't stay puppies for long.
I was there for two days photographing those waves. One of them went 300...
Hello all. Pardon my absence. I have been traveling and had a busy winter. Hope everyone is having a great start to their 2016.
Here's a few images I'd like to share from my recent travels. Let's start in Kauai!

Redwood National Park, CA with smoke from recent wildfires in the northwest laying low in the trees. This is 7 shots for dynamic range.

Really great scene with a lot of potential.
The sky looks a little stretched in the color gamut, especially noticeable with some of the magentas bleeding into the blues, as well as the ridge line.
The foreground is the real problem. I understand the importance of keeping shadow detail, but...
Anywhere from moderate to strenuous depending on how fit you are.

The Oregon Dunes have been on my radar for a while. I didn't have a chance to scout during the day. I went barefoot and hiked myself into a sweat and frenzy before I eventually found this spot. Just minutes after setting up, the sun broke through the thick clouds and made a brief appearance...
Those are some sweet looking clouds on the left. Nice catch. An interesting foreground element of some sort would've set this off. Also I would clone out some of the distractions in the foreground (road/posts)
A shot from the weekend at Mount Saint Helens.
Red Carpet [Mount Saint Helens, WA] by Majeed Badizadegan, on Flickr
This was a blend of 7 exposures for focus, 3 shots for dynamic range, 2 16mm horizontal shots stitched into a Pano to capture a larger angle of view. One shot was also taken...
My tripod was almost entirely submerged. Every tripod I've owned is fine getting wet, as long as I let it dry off afterward. I previously owned a Manfrotto 055XPROB. I was constantly in fresh water and salt water with those legs. I tried to keep them clean but eventually some buildup happened...
Sure, the telephoto shots were shot with a rented Canon 100-400 f4-5.6 II with 1.4xIII tele-extender. The images were tack sharp and it was such a pleasure to have that much zoom without sacrificing almighty image quality. The waterfall shot was done with Canon 16-35II @ 16mm. I believe it was...
Some recent images from a 4 day trip I made to Washington. I spent some time in the Palouse area. The last image was taken waist deep in Panther Creek Falls in Washington.

I'm excited to share this image as it really speaks to me as what I try to capture when I visit the Columbia Gorge. That of the amazing lush environment and changing light. The rain, sun, and fog-- the clear days and the snow; the Gorge has many so many different moods, and I'm just happy to...
