Thanks for the tips JeremyZ.So is manually focusing the preferred way?I have always used auto focus assuming than in AI Servo mode the camera will contiously keep focusing on a moving subject while I keep the shutter button 1/2 pressed.I can see where manually focusing and pre-focusing would...
Thanks for the replys everyone.I will definately check out that article that was posted.I am still learning my equipment set up and I probably need to shoot more pictures on different settings and see how they turn out.I mostly use my camera in "tv-shutter priority" because I undertand the...
Yeah,I am pretty sure it is a tecnique error or possibly I am overlooking a setting on my camera that might help me.I am still relatively new to this.I will try to get some pics up later and let you all give me some opinions.
I thought it may help to tell you what equipment I am using.I have a Canon 400d with an ef 70-200 f/2.8 lens.I always shoot in AI Servo autofocus.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I like shooting motocross pictures. Some of my pictures turn out very good but sometimes a fair amount of them appear slightly out of focus. Is there a tip that could help me get sharper action pictures?
I am using Irfanview and they are jpeg.I have my camera set on image size "small" 1250x1475 or something like that and quality "fine".When I open the picture it comes up at the size it was shot at and really looks good. Then when I resize it down to 600x800 it just doesn't look near as good to...
First off I am still fairly new to photography so please bear with me  I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT and mainly take motocross pictures that get posted on atv websites. My question is this:Is it normal to lose picture quality when resizing a picture. An example of this would be when I pull...
This is a great thread!I have jumped in to the "manual" settings on my Canon now and i am soaking up all the info I can.One thing I have been doing is shooting in the "auto" settings and when I find pictures that I feel turned out exceptionally well,I look at the info for that particular...
After I made the post I was thinking that the more af points used when panning would probably be better due to the fact you have more points to cover the moving subject.Keep in mind I am still very new to manual settings on a camera and I have tons of questions :D Thanks for the reply.
For shooting moving objects such as a car is it best to have just the center af point selected or all 7 of them?I do alot of panning shots and was thinking maybe the autofocus would "pick up" the subject better by using only 1 af point. Is this correct? The camera is a Digital Rebel XT.
Well,I purchased a lens today.I went with the Canon ef 70-200 f/2.8L IS  This will be my first nice quality lens ever.I can't wait to try it out.
Thanks for the replies.I do a fair amount of shooting without a tripod and after some thought and research,I think the 'bigma" may not be the best lens for me.I am pretty much looking at the Canon 70-200 "L" series 2.8 and the sigma 70-200 ex 2.8.What are your thoughts on which one would be a...
I have been looking to upgrade to a better lens for my Canon 350d.I have narrowed my choices down to the Canon 70-200 L series 2.8 and the Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX.I have read numerous reviews and it seems that the Sigma is the better deal because you are getting basically the same features for...
