    Lee Filter System

Because of a major FUBAR by Adorama losing my original equipment I sent for a trade in value, I now have a never opened Lee10 stop Big Stopper, 4x6 .9 GND & .6 GND filters and the Lee 100 Filter holder deluxe kit, plus 5 slightly used Lee filter ring adapters: 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 77mm and 82mm...

Early Season Milky Way (seems to be an epidemic of these today)

First is a five- frame, vertical format shot D850, 14-24 @17mm, ISO 600, 15 sec Secon shot is a single frame, same settings - the big difference is in the pano, Venus is just above the horizon and in the full frame, significantly above.

For those of you still working in the darkroom...

When I was in college, I was shooting 35mm Tri-X that came in 500 foot rolls as it was designed to be shot in Mitchell 35mm Movie Cameras...at the time I was there, the film was 12-15 years old, left over from the Korean War and it worked just fine. Kept in a cool, dry or refrigerated storage...

For those of you still working in the darkroom...

I ran across some notes I made while taking a class in "old" processes with Al Weber and David Vestal. It is a means by which you can get very good results from expired paper. The additives you would be interested in are bromide and carbonate. Potassium Bromide will clear the whites. (reduce...

    Winter Scene

Johnny come lately to this critique but while it's a "nice" bucolic winter scene, for me it lacks pop. Too much droll and dreary cloud cover, a bit of a color cast and has nothing that grabs one's eye to give the whole scene more than a passing glance. I did give it some pop and got rid of the...

    Milky Way re-edit

Give either PS (ACR) or LR a whirl...you can do all this with a sky mask and a gradient mask (water reflection) and some color grading. Not working with your color profile and not in RAW probably shows a bit overly blue but it gets you to a starting point.

    The ROCK

It's overexposed by at least a half-stop. Bracketing would work best for this shot or just a simple blended two exposure blend.
