A couple shots of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters

This was a fun show I covered in Wichita back in September. Most of the tour, people were relegated to the soundboard area due to Grohl breaking his leg this tour, but I ended up with pit access which was very cool. Shot all with the Nikon D4s, switching between the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8.

A Photo from a Project I Recently was A Part Of

I can't say what product due to NDA. it'll be out end of this summer though. Distortion doesn't matter to me nor my clients. Is it fixable? Sure. I just don't care to. As far as lighting goes, it wasn't too close. The faces of the members are not a stop off. That's just inaccurate. The...

A Photo from a Project I Recently was A Part Of

The goal was to take good images, and showcase the lighting product I used for its portability and quality of light. It's a part of a video that will drop next month as well. The 14-24 captures the larger than life aspect of the music industry and who this band is. It also gives great depth to...

A Photo from a Project I Recently was A Part Of

I was working on a project with a company I'm a brand ambassador for, and this is one of the photos from the day of shooting! The client is a band, Not A Planet. Used one strobe, the Nikon D810 and the 14-24 f/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

    Photo Prints

I'm in Kansas City, and I totally recommend you look into H&H Color Lab. It's based here, but ships in the US. Their pricing is definitely less than AdoramaPix, while quality in my opinion is 10 timex better. It's why I made the jump. Professional Photo Lab | Photo Printing | H&H Color Lab

    Camera body+lens recommendations

The best thing you can do for yourself is to go to a Best Buy, or local camera store and get some in your hands. Anymore, it's a feel game more than a capability game. If Nikon feels good in your hands and 'natural', get that. If Canon, do that. All of the major brands are making great entry...

Post your first photo of 2016

I was able to finally get out today with my new Sigma 150-600 Sport lens, which also happened to be my first time out to shoot for 2016.

    Very first photo you've taken

This is one of my first that helped me realize what I really wanted to do. It was shot with some Nikon point and shoot - I forget what. Not a good picture by any stretch but - it drew me in.

    New glass!

If I were a prime guy, I'd be using that lens a ton. Congrats and I hope that week flies by for you (I've been there!)

Shot a concert over the weekend

I was out and about, and a friend was having a show with his band (one of his last shows with this band) and since I knew it was a significant moment for him, I brought along my gear and figured I'd do some photos for them. They threw me on the photo pass list last minute (this is a fairly big...

    Nikon D600?

I picked up the very similar D610..and I couldn't be happier. I shoot mainly concerts and music promotional shots, but will do family portraits and weddings to make the real money as well. I added a vertical grip to it, and it feels great in the hands. Honestly, any FX Nikon is going to do a...
