Got an Omega D5500 enlarger. Help me understand what I have.

Thanks everyone for all the help so far. So quick question... http://www.fotolabor.ethz.ch/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/image.jpeg That image I found online shows a carrier I think its called for the film holder to slide into under the cylinder condenser lens box. I don't have that...

Got an Omega D5500 enlarger. Help me understand what I have.

Also, I guess I realize I need chemicals and trays to develop, but interms of the enlarger itself, is there anything its missing or I need for it? I am trying to track down a manual but not seeing anything in PDF online, so I will have to get a print copy shipped.

Got an Omega D5500 enlarger. Help me understand what I have.

Ah ok. I don't see any gasket material where that cylindrical part of the lamp head meets up. Totally gone. So thank you because that stuff showed up while moving and I couldn't figure out where it even was.

Got an Omega D5500 enlarger. Help me understand what I have.

It feels like it was soft and spongy once. Fairly stiff now. Here is an image of the arm that I was referring to. When you pull the arm, are you supposed to then maneuver inwards with it towards the right so it rests on these silver bars? It sort of seems like you would, but then the rest of...

Got an Omega D5500 enlarger. Help me understand what I have.

Haven't posted to this forum in a long time. My day went very well I think. I got this enlarger for free. Its an Omega D5500. I guess its supposedly a Black and White Condenser head? Here are some photos of it and everything I got. The owner said there is a timer for it also he will give me...

Continuous lighting...whats that company called? Allen Bees?

Thanks. This is what i was talking about. So from the same point as someone asking what a 1Dmk3 offers over an XSi...what do these offer over something similar but less expensive? How do they compare to the Alzo?

Continuous lighting...whats that company called? Allen Bees?

Is there any flicker issues with florescent lights and video? I am looking at continuous because I want it to double for video and photography. I haven't really looked into lighting much yet. I just remember the video and a couple people on here saying how much they liked it. That Alzo...

Continuous lighting...whats that company called? Allen Bees?

I can't find it now. It was a continuous lighting but was cool so people are not sweating. I read about it here, and there was a youtube video link also. I thought it was Allen Bees. I don't think it was Alien Bees. Any help?

Photoshop Question: File>Save for Web & Devices

Are you shooting in AdobeRGB? Save for Web does a very good job of converting to sRGB. There are other methods to change the color accurately if you need for less compressed files. 72ppi isn't the issue, its the overall resolution you should be concerned with.

Which Camera Nikon D300s or Canon 7D

It was a semi sarcastic remark at both companies. It was in RE: to what you are Darrell were going back and forth on where you mentioned the single point was better on Canon and he said it doesn't matter because it wasn't auto selecting the point of a legitimate sports subject. I got the...

Which Camera Nikon D300s or Canon 7D

So I am confused on this single AF point thing.... Nikon has 50+ AF points, and can auto select the best one to use better than Canon. Canon has 19 AF points, and can select its point, but is less good for whatever reason, but a single point is better than on Nikon. Here is what is confusing...

Velvia and other slide film cost. Is it going up 100%?

I think I got ripped off buying a roll of Velvia 50 for $14. I would have bought more, but I was under the assumption it was around $7/roll...which a subsequent google search has shown it is at B&H and many other places. I am going to order a 5 pack for $36. The guy at the counter said it...

f2.8 vs f4 with today's high ISO cameras?

Well, maybe so, but a lot of professionals use the 2.8 with great success. Numbers and specifications are all great, but if something requires charts with perfectly straight lines and other test equipment to see a ever so slight difference, then as far as I am concerned, there is no difference...

20% bing cash back for ebay.

Now that I am ready to buy, this doesn't seem to be working very well. Last year was flawless. This year a google search reveals different % for different searches, but right now as of this typing it seems to be 8% across the board for eBay, not 20%.

20% bing cash back for ebay.

Does this top out at $200 back? I think that is what it was last year for Live.com. Either way, last year I got 25% on eBay with PayPal offering 10% on top. Smoking deal. BTW, is this instant this year? Last year it was 6 weeks I think. EDIT...

How do they get this super contrast effect (see link)

You mean how the skin and background is so much lighter compared to the hair? That can involve using filters during shooting b&w (or afterwards in processing for color) to separate the subjects and make them pop a bit more. This isn't my specialty though so I won't pretend to explain the best...

    Does SD card matter?

What do you consider "regular"? I find this almost impossible, at least in terms of picture taking on a point and shoot. You probably have a VERY old SD card that is not even considered normal at this point. Anything they sell now should be beyond adequate for anything but extremely fast fps...
