I was looking for a sort of meanacing look accentuating the equipment details.

Well my long awaited off-camera lighting setup arrived today and with the wife away I was forced to model for myself... Anyway here are a couple of shots from my first foray into off-camera lighting, please feel free to comment / critique as you wish; it is always appreciated.
I had the opportunity to shoot my friends after their wedding yesterday, it was very ad hoc and although I had done some research on this and other sites for shots and settings I had not done any real on-site preparation.

Was at the beach with some friends yesterday an took these, as always any comments and critisism is appreciated.
Both were shot with spot metering (accepting the potential for blown out skies) and on camera flash to combat the sun.

I love the expression in her face and the general feeling of excess expressed throughout.

My wife loved the shot, but I had to do something with the cars, and while I was playing with them, I found I really liked the difference filter on the top 2/3 of the shot which gave a nice flow from dark to light...
Anyway, I still don't like the cars but I thought I would see what you all...
Went up to Barrago Springs today, managed to capture some nice shots, here are some of the best 'general' ones, I hope you enjoy,

2. "Desert Electricty" More Curves work to really push the reflection on the wires
