thanks everybody! Tony, thanks for the tip, I'll definitely get some of those to put in my bag
onehundredoctane, thanks, Road A is one of my favorite tracks. I used to race motorcycles but ran out of money lol. Wasn't using a tripod or monopod on any of them, found out my monopod was broken...
So this is my first attempt at "sports photography" or anything like that, really. Went to the AMA Superbike races at Road Atlanta (near Atlanta obviously lol). I'm a former amateur racer and have been around motorcycle racing for years so I decided to go to see what I could get from the...
Yeah I wish I had had time to do some more reading before we did this and a light meter is on my list for sure. I do have a shot like that with the whole dress but I shot it from too low of an angle so her face winds up being too far away I think. I was thinkin if I had something to stand on...
it wasn't intended as a real shot, the sun had gone down a lot while we were walking from place to place so I just snapped it to get a feel for my camera settings and I just happen to like it so I threw it in there.
I did actually have the camera turned to portrait for a lot of them, just most of the ones I've posted happened to be landscape. They wanted to do it at a train station so there were a lot of bridges, old trains (and not the interesting kind of old), etc that I was trying to keep out of the...
haha yeah I knew the overexposed ones would get ya'll, the two that were bad were the ones the "bride and groom" saw on my laptop and LOVED lol
I definitely need some more practice, with my equipment, with composition and with people but they're already thrilled and we all had fun. We talked...
So, a couple of my best friends got married a little over a year ago and the husband recently lost a bunch of weight. He had to get a tux to be in someone else's wedding this weekend so they got the idea to reshoot some of their wedding photos. I was thrilled when they asked me to do it...
haha I see your point. If I had gone lower, you would have just seen the mud that stuff was growing out of and I thought it kinda threw the image off a good bit
haha yeah it's a deceptive angle which wound up being something I liked about it
no HDR just a bit of saturation and maybe a little sharpening.
I'm kinda thinking it would have been better with some ripples in the water, just wish I had thought to try that while I was out there...
This wasn't planned, I was by a pond and for some reason this just caught my eye. The background is the actually reflection of the sky in the pond. I'm kinda digging the way it came out but I'm wondering if it's just me

never had an issue with amazon and I've ordered a LOT from them in the last few years, especially since I signed up for Amazon Prime (free second day air is AWESOME). I've never had an item that wasn't delivered on the guaranteed delivery date other than the few times it went FedEx and the...
I think it's just that the girls in the 2nd picture, at least a couple of them, look like they're 12 which is what makes it seem pretty messed up to me. Maybe it's just the angle, if they are actually 17, it doesn't bother me. I didn't have a problem with the first one because the girls are...
yeah I've been using photoshop for years and just got into photography in the last month
My view is that lazy people will be lazy, regardless of the tools available to them. If it wasn't photoshop, they'd look for shortcuts to lighting, composition, etc.. or they just wouldn't bother at all...
made a batch of tiramisu tonight and had to get a shot. Unfortunately I have to let it sit in the fridge overnight before eating any :grumpy:
