    Help with Focus

okay...so do you think it would be better to do f/7 with kit lens, or use my 50 mm/1.4 with f/7. I just feel like the flash wouldn't reach them if I was across the street. They are under an awning.

    Help with Focus

Thanks fo rthe reply. I took several shots trying to get them both in focus, and none turned out. I could put a focus "dot" on one or the other, but not both of them. I always have this same problem with large groups. I will be doing bridal portraits with all the bridesmaids soon, so I need some...

    Help with Focus

How can I get both people in focus...Am I doing something wrong on my camera? I obviously dolled it up a lot to destract them from the fact that there were out of focus! I had to use my kit lens to get close enough to them...I have a 50 mm, but I would end up across the street. 580 ex II 18...

    Offer "keepsake" CD of images?

Just about every one of my clients has asked me if I offer a CD of the images from the session. Most just want it for keepsake purposes (they say), and to share via e-mail, myspace, etc. I feel like my print prices are low enough that using the CD for printing elsewhere is not the issue. I...

    Help with Exposure

Ahh...I think I'm done editing...Unless any of you can see something I've overlooked. Thanks for your help, even if I just used this forum to "think outloud."

    Help with Exposure

And here are some vignettes: Should I always use these thumbnails? Not sure if I'm breaking rules posting all these photos! So, is the b&w better? I think it is, but I've been looking at these all night. And, if it is that much better, do I offer only the black and white to the mom? Or color...

    Help with Exposure

Is there any way to fix this? No I did not shoot in RAW :( I used a flash...When I didn't, the shadows were too harsh on their faces. Either way, editing advice would be appreciated.

    Editing Help Please

I need editing help and C&C on these... 1--Just C&C and let me know if it needs anything. Why does increasing the contrast also increase the noise? 2--This one is way too fuzzy...The child was acting like a monkey and just moving around like crazy, but the mom wants a 5x7...I posted before &...

    Before I even touch it...

How's this? I just adjusted the levels, not the curves. It's only grainy in large scale...I'll worry about that if they decide to print it larger. Any other suggestions?

    Before I even touch it...

I was not allowed to use a flash during the baptism service, and this is what I have. I used Shutter Priority, ISO 1600, and Shutterspeed 40. I would like advice and how to edit before I start messing with, and I would also like c&c. Should I have set my camera up differently? I do think I...

Someone in another forum did this...I love it...She looks porcelain! She said she did a high pass layer with an overlay. I've tried but can't come close...Any tips??

    Help-I need editing advice.

I agree...I was hoping there was a way to make up for it. I have tried this pose several times and they all looked like this...What would cause that? I was trying to bounce the flash off the ceiling...You think I did something wrong there? I've never had problems with my images not being sharp.

    Help-I need editing advice.

Not as sharp as I'd like, but this is the best I'm going to get with this baby... Now for editing...What does this need? I'm going to have my lab make my backdrop "white" and get the wrinkles out...Other than that, I want her to look the best possible...This is going to be a pretty large print...
