    Canon 70D test footage

For anyone who is interested in what the Canon 70D can do here's a clip I came across: Canon 70D Test footage | Videomaker.com

6D or 70D, which has better low light capability or are they about the same?

I've been using my 7D with the SigMonster the past two weeks and I now realize I need something better than the 7D when handling high ISO situations. I keep the 6D on the Sigma 50-500mm so, since I haven't heard anything about a 7D mark II, I'm thinking about buying another camera for the...

    This is pretty stunning!

Canon's Ridiculously Sensitive CMOS Sensor | Videomaker.com I wonder if this is the next generation sensor for a 5d Mark IV or Mark V or perhaps an 8D or 9D.

    Reddish Egrets photos/videos

Here's a different idea I think for the Nature & Wildlife forum. Many of us have photos of the same critter so I think it would be nice to show them to everyone. Lets try not to post more than 3 photos or videos and confine the postings in this thread to Reddish Egrets. I personally have no...

    Anhinga photos/videos

Here's a different idea I think for the Nature & Wildlife forum. Many of us have photos of the same critter so I think it would be nice to show them to everyone. Lets try not to post more than 3 photos or videos and confine the postings in this thread to Anhingas. I personally have no interest...

I found this to be interesting and somewhat puzzeling

I received the SigMonster today. That's Sigma's 300-800mm, 13 pound nearly 2 feet long superzoom. I mounted it on my tripod, placed the 7D with Sigma's 1.4X TC on it. It auto focused flawlessly. I then placed Sigma's 2X TC on it and was astonished to to see the 7D still auto focused flawlessly...

    60Da

Does anyone have one? Have you used it for night time wildlife photography or videography? Do you use an IR illuminator? Any samples online?

    Kodacolor prints stuck together

I have some old (1960s) Kodacolor prints that got stuck together. They were stored in my garage and when I went on deployment a tree limb knocked a hole in the roof. The rain added a lot of moisture inside the garage and the Florida sun heated everything up so now I've got a mess. I've tried the...

    Animal Videos

Here are a few of my favorites: eastern diamondback rattler | Flickr - Photo Sharing! The exposure was awful for this video shot through an inch of Plexiglas but I think it's pretty cool: Atlanta Aq 17 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Here's a few more shot through thick Plexiglas: polar bear 1 |...

    a little Everglades adventure

From net info I expected I could drive the 2 miles up Bear Lake Road to Bear Lake Trail. However it turned out I had to hike instead because the road was closed. I got to the trail and traveled perhaps a half mile when I nearly stepped on this character: IMG_0022 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! The...

    Gator encounter in the Everglades

Many places you go in Florida you will see gators. In some places like Shark Valley they lay just off the edge of the walkway or tram road and are less than 5 feet away. However this gator I encountered in Flamingo FL scared the crap out of me. I never, ever want to experience anything like this...

    Canon 6D HDR problem

I am unable to activate HDR mode. It is continuously greyed out and is non-selectable. HDR backlight is OK. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

this doesn't seem right to me

I bought the 6D and I love it to bits. However, I have to use an external flash. I recently shot the local museum of science and history with an old Sunpak flash and it did OK but it was a lot of work to get a good photo with it. So I ordered a Canon Speedlite 320EX refurbished from B&H. It...

    I have a small dilemma

I'm currently using the excellent Sigma 18-250mm macro on my 7D for shooting photos and videos in aquariums, zoos and museums. Unfortunately many of those locations are often very dark. They are often so dark that I have to manually focus the camera. Of course this results in a poor quality...

    Canon 6D built in HDR

Has anyone tried Canon's built in HDR feature in any of their 6D cameras? I'm wondering how good it is. I would think that a tripod and remote control would be necessary. Does it do as good a job as some software apps?

    reflection reduction

I can't seem to do anything to eliminate or even reduce reflections from transparent plastic materials. My circular polarizing filters do a decent job on glass and water but are completely useless when I encounter plastic. Anybody have any ideas?

    software source

Has anyone done business with these folks: SundaySoft I came across them when googling lightroom. They also advertise on amazon. They are offering full non-academic versions of lightroom for about half what amazon sells it for. They only sell downloads, which looks suspicious, but they...

    Hawk

Not more than one or two days before these photos were taken I had been lamenting in one of the forums here about how hard it was to get a decent picture of a hawk. Then I come home from shopping to this: It was eating one of the birds from my feeders. The photos were taken about six...
