Canon EOS 5D 12.8mp Camera Menu LCD Not Coming On

Hello & Happy Holidays Just picked up a Canon EOS 5D 12.8mp camera in excellent cosmetic condition. Camera powers up, shutter fires and all else works. The LCD screen is blank, dead. Can't figure this one out. Hoping someone might have an idea. The settings appear on the upper LCD window...

Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM That Chatters When The Shutter Is Pressed Even If The IS is Off

Lens still shoots sharp photos, just feels a bit strange watching the lens jump up and down. You can see the flicker while looking through the viewfinder. Then it stops and the autofocus adjusts and once it focuses, the end result is a nice sharp photo. Glass on this lens is excellent, as are...

Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM That Chatters When The Shutter Is Pressed Even If The IS is Off

I'm sure you're correct. Lens still functions the way it is, just have to press the shutter button a couple of times and the lens locks in place. A bit awkward, but it works. Thank you for your response.

Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM That Chatters When The Shutter Is Pressed Even If The IS is Off

Hello all, Just picked up a Canon EF 70-300mm is usm lens with issues. Seems the previous owner dropped it and the lens has a hairline crack in the barrel. The manual and autofocus appear to have been spared, but it seems as though the stabilizer isn't functioning as it should. The lens...

    Minolta X-700 Technical Question

I've had a couple of X-700's over the years, but this is the first one to have this sort of issue. Usually if a cap goes bad, you don't have all the functions my camera still has. It seems more like something is out of sync. Can't seem to get the mirror to stay up. If I lift the mirror...

    Minolta X-700 Technical Question

Hello, Just picked up another Minolta X-700 film camera in very nice cosmetic condition. That said, I put a couple of new batteries in and the camera didn't do anything. Then all of a sudden the meter lights lit up and I thought I was in business. Well, that's what I thought, but the film...

Canon A-1 35mm Film Camera with With Upper Body Separation Visible

Thank you for your response. This one puzzled me as well. But for $20.00 I thought I'd take a chance. Piece by piece it's worth more than I paid. That is if any of the other items are still in working condition.

Canon A-1 35mm Film Camera with With Upper Body Separation Visible

Hello all, Just bought a Canon A-1 film camera with a bit of visible separation between the camera body and lens mounting area. In addition there appears to be a slight opening at the top of the camera at the prism portion. I'm still awaiting delivery and will have a better look once the...

    Minolta X-700 No Power.........

These older cameras are funky. Sometimes you catch a break, sometimes you end up selling for parts. Not sure how long these two old Minolta's will keep going, but I came out a winner today. Nice hearing from you, hope your project goes well.

    Minolta X-700 No Power.........

I recently posted a thread about a Minolta X 700 and X 570. Both were totally DOA. Tried new batteries and still no luck. I was told about the capacitor problems and was ready to start tearing them apart. Then someone suggested I try different batteries. I took their advise and now I have...

    Minolta X-700

Waiting for the final word on these two Minoltas. Hoping my friend can solve the problem. If not, I've still got a great collection of vintage Canon models, along with an array of nice Canon glass. I purchased the Minolta cameras on a gamble hoping to be able to make use of some of the...

    Minolta X-700

I'll have to let you know, I sent them to a friend who's checking them out for me. He's been a fairly good source over the years on my old Canon EOS models. We'll see if he can do anything with these old Minolta's. If it's the caps, he'll know how to fix them. "I hope".

    Minolta X-700

I was afraid of that, but again, if that's all it is for the price I paid, shouldn't be a costly repair. Thank you for your response.

    Minolta X-700

Hi, Just bought (2) Minolta cameras, X-700 & X-570. I'm familiar with most Canon EOS film models, but just learned some interesting things about the older Minolta's. I understand the X-700 model doesn't work well with MC lenses when set to program mode. You need to use the newer MD type...

Canon EF 75-300mm III with Strange Issues.................

Hello all, Wondering if anyone has ever experienced this problem before? Just picked up a Canon EF 75-300mm III lens and it seems to work fine on all my cameras when shooting indoors. As soon as I get outside, error 99 comes up on my digital camera, and a flashing bc code comes up on my film...
