Here's a shot from Thanksgiving, with the whole family. Other than them not listening to me about posing and where to stand, and the shed in the background, what do ya think?

I need to pay more attention.....

I have lived in Nashville the majority of my life, and been into photography for a large portion of that. But I had no clue that Paul C. Buff Inc is right up the road... :grumpy: I even own some of his lighting stuff, and it never clicked with me where the return address was from. But I have...

Shoot with a darling little girl

I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph my good friends daughter this past weekend. I thought I did a good job. All post done involved WB, curves and minor sharpening. C&C appreciated 1. Not real happy with the trim and roller in the background. 2. 3. 4.

    Dyamic range in a portrait

So I've had my D300 for a few months now, but have just now figured out how good of a dynamic range this sensor has. I've heard about it but haven't seen it myself til today. I took this picture of my GF the last time I was home. I overexposed the crap out of this and was messing around with it...

    FS: Nikon D70s with extras

Well howdy ya'll. It's time for me to say goodbye to my trusty D70s. She's been through a lot with me and came out shining like a diamond. What I have is the D70s, approx 50,000 actuations, recently cleaned sensor. Only thing wrong are a few ocular annoyances that I haven't figured out on the...

    Sooooooo? Guess what I got...

My 70-200 2.8 came in!!!!!!!! I'm stoked. No unfortunately it's not the Nikkor, but I'm not exactly worried about it. This thing is amazing, and I really wish I had my QR plate for my tripod to see how sharp this thing really can be. But I'll post up some test shots later.

    New Stuffs

Well I have had some new stuff for a couple weeks now and thought I should share. Upgraded from the D70s to a D300, then procured the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. But now I have a dilemma.... I want a 70-200 2.8. I can't decide whether to wait and save for the Nikkor or go ahead and get the Sigma...

    Quick question about weddings

If you paid out $300 an hour for a wedding photographer and out of 500 images only about 20 are any good, i.e. WB is off, focus is 99% soft, composition sucks, etc... Would any of ya'll ask for your money back? I'm posing this for a friend of mine after I went through the wedding album. And...

A few shots from the park this weekend

Went down to the local skate park this weekend and ended up taking more pictures than I did actually skating. C&C welcome 1. 2. 3. I know the first two are slightly out of focus, had to guestimate the distance and was off by about a foot.

    First PP C&C please

Been shooting for a while and soaking up knowledge on this forum. So I decided to put them together. Other than composition, (I know, but it's a quick crop) and the burning over the left shoulder, how could I improve upon my technique. Still learning, and feel free to be brutal. I can be...
