Is 800 ISO a tad high for that camera? Maybe that's where the noise is coming from.

How long do cameras usually last?

Called Nikon this morning and started the process. They told me to remove the memory card and the battery for 24 hours to see if that fixes the problem. lol

How long do cameras usually last?

The shutter started locking up on my D300 tonight. It locks up during a shot and "Err" flashes on the top screen. I can press the shutter button a second time and it finishes the actuation and the Err message goes away, but does it again when I try to shoot again. Has anyone else had this...

C&C Please - Tobacco Barn Silhouette

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean about the barn blending in too much with the dark areas on the right side of the frame. Truth be told, I was so happy with how the sunset turned out, I totally missed that in my initial self critique of the picture. I will definitly work on it...

    Shooting the moon problems

I got this one the other night. I just kept adjusting my aperture until it looked good. It's not as sharp as I would like but it was the best of the night. ISO 200 300 mm f /25 1/15 sec

    Few of my first shots

I think there is too much sky in the first one. I would crop some of it out. I love the second one the way it is. I like the edit of the second one as well. Good job! I also wish I lived closer to scenes like this.

    Kinkakuji C&C

Wow. Beautiful picture. It looks like it may be a bit overexposed to me. It might just be my monitor. The Kinkakuji looks a bit crooked as well. Other than that I think it's awesome. Great job!

C&C Please - Tobacco Barn Silhouette

I shot this old tobacco barn out behind my house tonight. I was trying to capture the silhouette of the barn against the sunset. The shot was handheld. The only PP was cropping and I removed a small spot in the upper left of the image. I was just cruising around trying to take advantage of...

I have no clue dude. I have never sold my work. That isn't my motivation in photography. I'm not saying that your work has to be worthy of the cover of National Geographic for you to be able to sell it. I'm just saying that it should be damn good before you should be able to call yourself a...

This topic can and will be argued to death but I would think that most people equate the word "professional" with high quality or a high level of skill. I'm in no way busting balls on anyone here getting payed for their pictures, I'm just saying that you can split hairs on this all day long...
