    AI's Wonderful World of Macro

Honestly, it really depends on the direction and amount of ambient light. I dont do anything formulaic. I know that doesnt help much. But Im pretty loose on my creative process. Sometimes it needs fill. Sometimes I want backlighting. I guess Im moody. :suspicion:

Thats where I live. It wont be like Spring/Summer bug season. But there is always something to shoot here since it doesnt freeze very often.

Thank you kindly. Ya, they are a bit too even in their light distribution for me. I like a little more dramatic lighting.

    Maiden's Tower sunset

Ya, not enough foreground in that second one for me. Though, you could cut/layer/scale the tower from this image into the other one for a nice composite.

    Maiden's Tower sunset

I like the width. Plenty of sky to show. Nice capture. As much as I detest HDR. I would like to see the detail of the tower here.

    Tiki sunrise

The tiki IS leaning forward quite a bit. Its been in the water for at least 30 years so its all kinds of off-cant. I really wanted to accent that perspective. I knew the horizon would irk some.

    Tiki sunrise

^^ Ya. I found that my vision was too drawn to the sunrise in the horizontal images. The frame wasn't weighted as evenly either.

    Tiki sunrise

I have several with a perfect horizon and slanted tiki. I don't like them as much.

    Tiki sunrise

Taken at Sandy Hook restaurant on Pine Island, FL. I drive past this location frequently and have been wanting to shoot it for a long time. Finally had the time and weather to give it a run this morning. ISO 200 f18@1/250 +1 ev + strobe Tiki-sunrise by Simon Rivers Photography, on Flickr
