Here's the story:
I was shooting a wedding the other night and tried out a set of Phottix Strato radio transmitter/receivers for the first time. (first time at a wedding, I had used them plenty before in order to test whether or not they were reliable to use on a job.)
I had an SB900 on my...
I bought one of these:
Amazon.com: Bogen - Manfrotto Swivel Umbrella Adapter (Lite-tite) Replaces:2905: Camera & Photo
and it came with this:
Amazon.com: Manfrotto 118 Male Spigot for 2905 1/4-20-Inch Male and 3/8-Inch Male 26mm Long Adapter - Replaces 3107: Electronics
Why does it have a...
I remember seeing a video of a guy who has a camera holstered to him by some sort of camera strap and a gun holstered to his hip. He shoots the gun then his camera then the gun then the camera again. (or something like that).
I can't find the video. Does anyone know where I can find this...
I know that certain DSLR models have the same exact hot-shoe built into the camera. Although they are all very similar there can be differences (e.g. between the D90 and the D700).
Does anyone know which other camera's (if any) the D7000's hot-shoe is similar to? I could not figure out how...
I want to buy these: Phottix Strato 2.4 GHz Wire/Wireless 4 in 1 Trigger
The only online place I found to buy them is the site I just posted above and a site that ships from Malaysia (Phottix Strato 2.4Ghz Wired / Wireless Flash and Camera Triggerer Set (Transmitter + Receiver) (C6 for...
I'm in the market for a backup device.
I shoot weddings and I want to be able to backup my cards immediately after they are full. This seems to be the most cost effective way to do it.
The problem is that I can't find any reviews on it. Anyone have any experience with this product?
I have been looking to get a Lumedyne kit (used) and I can't find info on the older kits.
I was looking at the following two kits:
1) Lumedyne 400 Watt Sec Outfit 067Q Pack C1 Batt Charger - eBay (item 150466007006 end time Jul-20-10 12:14:47 PDT)
2) Lumedyne 400 Watt Sec Outfit 067 Pack...
I have been playing around with the new tethered capture feature in Lightroom 3 and I was wondering of the same thing exists for video?
I use a D90 and want to see the live video feed on my laptop, does anyone know if I can do such a thing and if so how?
I am looking for a well made strong umbrella that will hold up to a couple of bumps.
My intended use for it will be on a portable setup that an assistant will be carrying around (most likely a Lumedyne head on a light stand minus the legs of the stand). Mainly for wedding and event work...
I'm looking to get 2 or 3 backdrops for portrait work. Really it is for group shots at weddings and other events when the client wants a 'formal' background setup.
My question is where do you buy your backdrops from?
I do not want to spend alot and I do not need the highest quality materials...
Does anyone have experience with both of these lenses?
I have the 18-50 but I require a bit more reach which is the main reason why I would want the 17-70.
I understand the obvious differences b/w the 2 lenses (18-50 is a 2.8 throughout the range while the 17-70 isn't, and the 17-70 is an...
This is probably directed at Nikon users although I am sure that there are some Canon guys out there who know about this too.
Question: Is there any way to use Auto FP high speed sync with off camera flash? I know that if I use the Nikon CLS it is possible, but is it possible with radio...
If you do not have a system or method of going from taking an image to storing it somewhere and everything in between you should check this site out.

I was wondering what other photography related sites you guys visit on a day to day or weekly basis? Either other forums or specific photographers, review sites, etc...?

I came across this:
Album Design Software - Album Express - Creative Album- Software - Plugin - Photo - Video - Template - Design Software DS
It is a plug-in for Photoshop that is supposed to streamline your album making... whether it be for a wedding or portraits.
Have you ever used something...
I recently read a post on the site Stuck In Customs HDR Photography (I'm sure many of you know of it and those of you that don't I suggest checking it out) about why he moved his "online portfolio" from Flickr to SmugMug. The exact link is here:
How to Create an Online Portfolio
I'm slowly getting things together to begin offering people portrait work. I will be going to a pro photo lab in my area and I want to know what you guys think are good things to ask and find out about from the lab.
I have these questions so far:
1- Do you offer packages?
2- Price list...
