Hello from a new old member.

Hello all (again). Until about a year ago I loitered here under the name ZaphodB. Since then I have been on the run from the law, had to change my identity and go into hiding dressed as a Mother Superior. The last part wasn't strictly necessary, but it felt right at the time. OK, so all of the...

Wanted: Yashica Mat 124G (for lens only)

My 124G is spotless except for one part... unfortunately that part is an element inside the taking lens. Fungus has been removed but left some marking which seems to be permanent... however it should be possible to replace the lens, and between the cost of buying and service I've put a fair bit...

    Heroes - Second Series

Well, we didn't seem to have one so I figured I'd start a thread for those who are watching the second series to talk about it (without spoilers naturally)... ... ok so I lied, main reason for starting this thread was to say this... I was busy chuckling away at the "English" accent on one of...

    R.I.P. to C.A. in P.S.?

Just a quickie... what's your favourite action or method (In Photoshop CS2 or similar) for removing chromatic aberrations, specifically fringing of the purple flavour? I've tended to remove it bit by bit using selective colour, or simply cloning, as mostly it hasn't been much of a problem for...

FS: Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 LD "macro", for Pentax.

Hey... As the title says, I have one Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens for Pentax K-mount. Owned for one year, condition is basically as new. I've been very happy with it, only reason for selling is to help raise money for a faster lens. As a budget tele zoom it's really quite good. In my opinion...

WTB: Pentax 67, or other 6x6/6x7 MF SLR.

Hello... I'm looking for a Pentax 67... ideally a 67 or even a 67ii, though would consider the older 6x7 if the price is right... am interested in body either with or without lenses, but preferably a complete body with prism. While I'd prefer a Pentax, I might also be interested in any other...

Canikon D9XMk5 for $50! Earn money watching porn! You like!

OK... There was just a post for 100% hardcore porn. I didn't realise that the hardcore-ness of porn could be assessed as a percentage, but that's another matter... anyway as usual it got deleted fairly quickly, but before it did Hertz made a good point... there was actually nothing for sale...

    Custom PCs in the UK?

Sorry, nothing remotely interesting to read here... just a question. I am looking for a new computer, but want to have some choice over the components and peripherals. Companies like Dell and Mesh allow some degree of 'customising' components, but they always come with things I don't want...

    Digital cameras are... meh.

Thought that might get your attention. I'm not complaining about the quality of images you can get with a digital camera. Or the workflow. No, I'm referring to the fact that most cameras now are... meh. :meh: Not technologically. I mean aesthetically. Now I don't mean fixed lens super-zooms...

FS: Manual focus lenses + 18-55mm 'kit' lens for Pentax K-mount (UK).

Hey... the new lenses, scanner, tripod and bag mean that I am short on money and short on space to put everything... so I am saying goodbye to a number of lenses. 1) Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6... presumably if you are looking then you know what it is. Standard "kit" zoom for the Pentax...

Another "buying from USA post" (UK)

I know there's been a few posts on this subject, which helped clarify things a bit, but the info I've found isn't really conclusive, so if no-one minds I'll just ask the question anyway... Based on your own knowledge or experience... if I am considering a lens which costs £700 in the UK, but...

Free: Canon Canoscan 8400F flatbed - film scanning faulty.

My Canon started playing up a few weeks back. I called Canon and was told that any repairs would cost at least £100. So I just replaced it, but now I have a semi-faulty (and semi-working) scanner lying around in a box; I don't really want to throw it away if someone could use it as is or make it...

Questions for any Epson scanner owners...

Well if anyone's read my recent post about my Canon scanner, you may have guessed that I won't be rushing back to Canon for the replacement. Frankly I'm starting to wonder if they make anything these days, short of a 1Ds or L glass, that's designed to last more than a few months. Planned...

Problems with Canon 8400F (flatbed scanner).

Has anyone had a Canon Canoscan (or for that matter any other flatbed film scanner) suddenly turn crap? For no reason I can see, the top light (the one for the film) on mine has now become unbelievably slow and occasionally sounds like it's in pain. It still scans - if I'm prepared to wait 10...

    WTB: 24mm (or 28mm) for Pentax K-mount.

Well I've been giving some thought to buying a fast walkaround wide-to-standard zoom for my dSLR, but that would mean a 'digital-only' lens, and I just can't bring myself to invest in glass that wouldn't work with my film bodies too. So instead I'm looking for a good 24mm prime, 24mm being IMO...

    Forum down?

Last couple of days I've been getting error messages coming up when I tried to access TPF during the mornings & early afternoon (GMT)... later on it loads as normal... anyone else get that? Does the server have regular down time?

    Anyone for a free camera?

 thought that would get your attention  But really, free cameras. That is, free if you can collect in London or South-East UK... what's the catch? Well, these ain't Hasselblads  Basically I'm just trying to clear up some space and have a couple of cameras that are not in the...

    Maybe old news, but...

Lensbaby for medium format. You know you want one - if only to disguise your camera as a Star Trek prop or painful medical device

    Rapid fixer not so rapid

So I just developed a film using the same developer, rapid fixer and detergent I use for most b&w films (no stop bath). Developer and fixer by Fotospeed - sure I'm probably just being difficult by not using Ilford or Kodak but I've always been very happy with the results from the Fotospeed...
