Hi folks, I’m wondering if you could possibly provide some advice. I have a Sony A7ii and I pair this with a recently purchased Sony 200-600mm lens (so it’s new to me). However I’m finding a lot of my images to not be as sharp as I thought (from others images/reviews prior to my purchase) or...
comparing these two photos i took with relatively same settings
environment, in doors, key light source window with shades/blinds and a lamp
manual mode
iso-800
shutter speed to 1/30 of a second
tried it with f 4.0 (lowest aperture) vs f 11 which most people take photo of product photography...

Hi all,
I’ve been having some focus issues with my Sony A7R3 and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem? This happened to me while using AF-S single shooting to focus on still sceneries or object.
First the camera focuses onto the subject but then it loses focus quickly...
I can't figure out the right terms to find these answers on Google...but I'm looking for a way to set an automatic focus progression to adjust a Nikon D750 or D850's focus over time, without touching the camera with my hands, while it's on a motorized slider shooting either timelapse or video...
Happy Hump Day!!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week so far! I am booked up for the next few months so I am one happy camper!! :)
Some of you may disagree, but, I really enjoy shooting in TV mode these days just to make sure I'm getting clear and crisp movement for lifestyle photos. I...

Hi,
Two days back I shot this in my friend's wedding. I have no good experience in wide angle shot and hence tried this with curiosity (pic. attached)
Imgur
While shooting this, I could not focus as it was very dark out there. Autofocus kept shunting even with LED modeling lamp of Godex...
I have a D3200 camera with 18-105 mm lens. Yesterday I tried shooting a couple in a wide angle frame (18 mm focal length). This is my general practice when I take a shot wider than 80mm:
1. Switch to manual focus
2. Zoom to 105 mm
3. Focus on the eyes of the subject
4. Zoom back to desires FL...
Hey,
ich have the Canon T6i/750D with the Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art lens.
I also bought the Sigma USB Dock and tried to calibrate it.
I haven't had problems with the first three calibratable distances (0.25, 0.35, 0.6) but when I shoot at distances which are further away than those like 2, 5, 10, 20...
I have a question for users experienced with fast primes. Today, I tried to test AF with my 700D (T5i) and my two lenses:
- EF-S 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 IS STM
- EF 50mm 1.8 STM
I noticed an issue with the 50mm. When I open up the aperture to the max, the AF jumps a bit on every other photo.
But...
So, I went from a kit lens 18-105 mm to a 50 mm 1.4 and I have a little problem with the focus. With the other lens there was no problem because the maximum aperture was 3.5 so it wasn't hard to make things focused. But with the 50 mm I am struggling to make the focus right, like I think it's...
Hello all,
Recently I purchased an EOS 1n. I receive it today and tried to use it with no success. The auto focus goes to minimum focus distance then to infinity then the in focus indicator just flashes. I haven't been able to find any help on this. The only error I see online is the BC error...
One thing that plagues me are photos that appear ok in the viewfinder/LCD (even when I zoom in) but turn out to be quite a bit out of focus in post.
I tend to use the auto focus just about any time I'm not on the tripod, and almost always on spot focus.
My technique is to center the thing I...
I recently took a trip to Death Valley with two friends of mine. These friends are the couple pictured in the photo. I dragged them along with me on a few night sky photo sessions, and happened to take this photo during one of them. Now, when I took it, I was thinking that it made more sense to...
I've been practicing shooting the stars, but they don't turn out as good as I wish they would. Any tips on how to do better long exposures? I shoot on a crop sensor if that has any impact on my results. I would eventually like to do time lapses of the galaxy.
I recently purchased a 12mm Samyang fully manual lense.
The lense if 12mm f2.0-f22.
This is a fantastic addition to my collection and has really opened up eyes, not only to the types of photography now available to me, but to how much 'basic' photography skills I have never had to think about...
Hi !
I will try to upload one photo I took each day for one month.
Here is my 3rd shot
I was walking on a fish market when this guy attracted my attention. I was lucky the fisherman allowed me to take it in photo (a lot of photo interdiction in the market).
Thank you for your advice :)
How many users are out there have noticed with their 75mm lens that it is not as "buttery smooth" as other lenses of this caliber? I'm considering buying this camera off of a person who says the camera is in excellent shape - but his only "small" fault is the lens is not as "buttery smooth" as...
I am looking for somebody that can help with getting bright white / focused images inside homes.
I have a Canon 5d Mark iii with 16-35mm lens and 600 ex-rt flash. I am beyond a "newbie" however very limited time spent with post production and raw images.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Got held up cooking and taking photos for a few days but am now back.
Tried to take on board many of the pointers that I recently got here and this is my latest attempt.
The image is F22 but I have lots of others.
What seems a little odd to me, but then I'm a relative beginner, is that the...
Recently I rented a Nikon D610 body from an online rental website.
I rented the camera for the duration of the car show (one weekend) and returned [shipped] it promptly the following Monday, with no computer to review my photos until later.
Now, when importing the photos from my memory card to...
Hi,
I own a Nikon P530 Bridge Camera which I'm having a lot of fun getting to grips with.
I love using the Macro mode but I'm looking for any tips on the art of making the camera focus on the subject quickly rather than the background.
I tend to shoot in Auto with Macro enabled. As far as I...
Hello all!
I have a Canon 1100D/T3 and I've been having problems with auto focus on all three of my lenses. Unless the scene has a LOT of contrast, the auto focus just hunts forever focusing back and forth never locking in on anything. This happens with every lens. I don't know exactly how...
