Finally managed to get a decent shot of a bumble bee. I must say, these are not easy to capture. But I'm going to keep trying and trying till I get that winning shot I want. Thought I'd share this one anyways. Took it toward the end of the day as the sun was going down and spent a good 45...
This coming Sunday I'm going to be going out with some friends to photograph a site that has literally thousands of daffodils then will be going to a site that has the same amount of Trilliums blooming here in Ontario Canada. I want to get the best shots possible with my Fujifilm Finepix S5200...
Any suggestions for my best option under $500? I'm open to used. I'm looking in the 90mm to 105mm range - newborn work. I'd love the Nikon 105/2.8 but even used its out of my budget.
Any experiences with the Tokina 100mm? Tamron 90mm?
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
I've been thinking about upgrading my current system sometime over the coming months and I was interested to know if whether any brand does macro better than the other?
I currently use a Nikon D3200 paired with my sigma 105mm macro but I have been thinking for a little while about...
Afternoon everyone.
I've been thinking about upgrading my Nikon D3200 at some point (not the immediate future, I need time to save and do homework) and mostly shoot and enjoy wildlife, especially macro. Primarily I'd like advice and recommendations for a camera that would be best suited for...
Greetings,
The following four photos are all of the same still life entitled: "The Chips are Down". Each has been edited in different ways and manners and I like each in their own way. As an amateur photographer I like and appreciate others thoughts and C&C. Thus this Poll.
Thanks in advance...
Yep, woke up to a little bit of frost this morning. I even had to dig out my winter hat from the closet.
I apologize in advance if this photo gives you chills.

Maybe it's time for me to get that macro lens back in my possession now...
Anyone tried filming in macro? Just made a start, does anyone have suggestions/ideas? Used to photographing in macro but never filming. Does anyone know some tips on how to get a better depth of field?
Hooked on videos like this!:
Hi all. I have an a6000 and I recently got their 30mm macro lens and I want to do some flower photography with it. The problem is that my hands shake so I need a tripod that I can put on my dining room table and will let me get very close to the table. I saw some of the ball joint looking...

Lava Dancers was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC.
From The Artist's Story blog post:
"Upon the first look through the viewfinder at the subject in Lava Dancers, I immediately knew the title of this piece. I was initially attracted to the colors, but getting in close and seeing what...
Rainbow Seeds is another piece from my current portfolio. It was composed in Augusta, GA.
From The Artist's Story blog post:
"I was creating abstract compositions of an open pod of seeds one spring afternoon in the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park when the light changed to a perfect amount and angle...
Another macro flower from my portfolio. This subject and a couple of others were just sitting outside the Rye Patch on the front steps as I wandered past one warm Spring afternoon a few years back. I really couldn't resist such an attractive flower.

A bit of back ground info first: I've been doing some photography for about 4 years now, just a hobby, I'm nothing of a pro for sure. I started off with a used, old D70. My primary lens was a 35mm 1.8 DX. It gave me fantastic results consistently. Just a year ago I decided it was time for...
Took this photo 2 years ago on a park, and this is probably my most beautiful flower shot last 2015. :lovey::love_heart: What do you think of this one?
