1000~4000 zoom?

I was about to sell my spotting scope when I noticed that it has a camera adapter. The thought of having that kind of zoom is pretty cool but what can I use it for. It has to be mounted on a tripod because it's pretty big. Has anyone used one of these before?

That kind of range would be great for elusive wildlife, but I don't know what kind of quality you'd get, and what type of camera you could even mount to it. I'd be willing to be the lens is too slow for birding. You might get some good astral photography usage though.

you'D need a concrete mount for those focal lengths (or a very good tripod) ... else shake will kill all images very quickly

I have a rock solid tripod that I can mount it on so that wouldn't be a problem. I think you're right about birding though. I doubt I'd get much for this anyway so I guess I'll just hang on to it till the next safari lol. Thanks for the advice guys.

with zoom at 4000....i suspect you can really zoom from a few blocks away....lol ...i've tried zoom all the way with a 200mm and i can look at the apartment across the street....so assuming at 4000...which is 20 times further.....i can see 20 times further....which is like 10 blocks away...haha...for sure they woudlnt notice me at all....
