This is all good to hear. I always thought it was just us weanie Southerners who freaked out in the snow!

You said it not me! Lol

Oh, I freely admit *I'm a weanie about it...I hate it!! I hate pretty much everything about snow, EXCEPT the way it looks. I hate the cold, I hate driving in it, I hate that it's invaded my little southern city...but I *especially* hate having to be out on the road in it, with a bunch of yahoos who don't know how to drive in it, and yet seem to THINK they do!

Home from work suckin' on some Chardonnay. Wwaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppp?!?!?!?!

NE freaks out at the first snow of the year, then we usually settle in. This year if the temp drops to near normal we freak out.
DC lies on a weather boundary. If the storm comes out of the west, it straddles the Appalachians and the northern and western suburbs will get the white stuff. If it comes out of the south or a low-pressure hangs out off Cape Hatteras, the pig will go up the Chesapeake Bay and dump the snow to the south (where I am) and the east. The southern storms also produce more snow than the western ones, because of the Appalachians.

We've had folks go home early at the first flake. We've run out of salt for the roads during the first storm, which normally puts 1"-2" in DC. We've NOT closed schools because not much was predicted and have had kids get stuck there and can't get home. DC is also a cosmopolitan area - which means we get the worst drivers from everywhere else! </rant>

I hate dealing with morons.

Some Zinfandel myself...and the fact that I just had to type Zinfandel three times to get it right, may tell you how MUCH of it I've had...
We are just having ourselves a posting frenzy, trying to bump this thing on up to the 1000 mark before the night ends.

Oh, yeah. FORGET about getting BM&TP at the grocery stores. If you don't get them before it starts, you're going to do without. Luckily we only get real big snow storms about every 5 or so years.

What lens? And why? Did you pay too much for it, or did it just not deliver?

Its a Sigma 28-70 f2.8. Nikon mount I got it but I wanted something wider after I tried it. So I ended up buying another lens shortly after. Tamron 17-50 f2.8.

Sigma is for sale! $160? Anyone? Anyone?

NE is like that with hurricanes. I'm a hillbilly so we always had homemade bread, neighbors fresh milk and knew how to pee outside. Nothing scared us!

I live in Texas

No snow here, but my wonderful husband just ordered Chinese food for me!

The big bang makes me hungry. Is it just me or are they ALWAYS eating?!

We got all of ours last week.. but still have one to two feet on the ground....
