Hey guys & girls

Sharing a few shots from a 1960's "inspired" shoot I did recently.

The theme was picked out of thin air when the model & I were discussing styling/clothing 5 minutes before we started the shoot.

And then the clothes came off haha!

Opinions? Love it? Hate it?

Give it to me.

Thanks

I like shot #2 the most. It's by far the best conceived shot. It could even be cropped more at the bottom, and I think her sideways look might come through even more strongly. In #1 the light's reflection in the one lens of the sunglasses really kills it. The bra and bra and panties shots just seem gratuitous and pointless....yeah..she's a woman in a bra...I'm not getting any type of real sense of her "selling" the shots in #3 or #4, whereas in #2, her look, her body posture, and the lighting are ALL working together really wonderfully!

The placement of your main light in shot #2 is simply FABULOUS! It totally, totally, totally "sells it"!

I think the first two work quite well (except for the umbrella in her sun-glass lens) as '60s style, in particular the processing is very reminiscent of home-processed film in slightly too warm, slightly too old D-76. The other two, well... an attractive woman in her underwear? Hard to go too far wrong!

I like the theme and execution a lot. The wardrobe is awesome! I think the way the shadows were brought up in post adds a nice look. The first is my favorite but the umbrella catching in the sunglasses looks a little odd, especially since it's only on one side. The expressions you captured in 3 and 4 are great but the poses could use a little work. In the 4th if the body was angled more toward the camera I think it would be more flattering. Also gets a little hot over her shoulder and chest in the 4th as well. Doesn't bother me much though. All in all I really dig the set.

edit: Wasn't fast enough Derrel beat me to a lot of my points.

^^ All this, with special emphasis on the umbrella light in the sunglasses. Please, please remove that thing and you will probably have another winner of a shot - although, the second is by far the best of the set, with the glasses as a prop, the terrific lighting and pose. The '60's theme is well captured in these first 2 shots, and of course you realize the underwear shots, while technically fine, have little to do with your chosen theme.

Thanks Derrel. Out of the 4 that one is my fav. I actually like the beauty dish reflection in the glasses but I know that won't be to everyones taste. haha =]

I was going for the shot on film look, thanks for the comments!

Thanks man, yeah the hotness is pretty noticeable, I made the mistake of not shooting tethered, trusting my lightmeter & not checking the histogram enough.

EDIT - Okay, i'm going to remove the light reflection in post & see if the shot works better.

A lot better IMO.

Love the edit. Although I'm also thinking a terminatrix kind of shoot could totally rock that beauty dish reflection effect. Like terminator not terminex. Two totally different shoots.:er:

Ok. I'm done here.

HAHA! I absolutely love number 2, and the edit of number 1. Underwear shots are nice too, just nothing too special about them to me. I'd love to see some more shots with the clothes/shades.

Any chance there's a 3rd outfit? :)

There was another two outfits. Here is one of them. Shot just natural light with this outfit.
