Im a photographer from socal that wants to get into the profitable wedding industry!

Before I started diving into this I figured, hey I can shoot, how hard can it be!
Now I realize the photography is the easy part!

I get inquiries about weddings, and I am starting to organize a price list, so Im pretty good on that. What I do need help with is presentation of images

Some request albums, and I want to use either Leather Craftsman or Willowbook. My questions were, how do you set up those albums? Leathercraftsman won't talk to me unless I have a DBA and a tax ID....Im just trying to get some info.

Do I just send them a CD, with the images numbered by pages?
What is there turn-around time? cost?

Also, how many use Pictage? I am just starting out so, I don't expect a lot of weddings. Is it convience worth the price? Can you design albums within Pictage? (i.e. do they have their own program do drag/drag/design albums)

sorry for the bunch of questions, but its time for me to finally stop talking about it and start doing it!

Also, if I can be of help to others I am experienced in auto detailing (Have a scratch,swirl,or want to bring back that finish I can help), flashlights (yes flashlights! need one for a specific purpose).

Lessee...

1. Talk to a CPA about setting up your business, probably as a sole propriator (sp?). Then you'll get your TID from the state.
2. The wedding photography business is not profitable, at least not starting out (unless you already have about 10K in equipment and are related to a CPA, a marketing specialist, a web designer, and a graphic designer).
3. Pictage is the devil.

Why don't you try getting a little experience actually with other people before you try and start your own business. All those questions you have can be answered with a little real world experience working for peanuts in someone elses studio you know crawl before you run.
