28-135 kit lens

I just got the 7D and while I can hardly control my excitement I'm a little disappointed. Does the kit lens for everyone have the zoom creep? My 17-55 tamron does not do it. Even has a lock to stop it. Could I have gotten a bad lens? I see in the book the 18-135 kit has the lock but not the lens from my kit. Also it states it's an USM lens, do the L and non L USM focus at different speeds? I have used the 10-22 and the 16-35 and they both focused faster then I could think most of the time. With this one my tamron focuses faster.

Yes. There is some zoom creep on it.
Yes an L lens will focus faster.

Mediocre lens from the film days.Slow focus and zoom creep yes it is there.
