2nd attempt at portrait

Okay, I adjusted the lighting, didnt use the on camera flash and didnt cut and paste her onto a background. However, I did convert it to grayscale due to background/hair color issues. It looks really grainy to me...all the pics from that shoot do. Why is that? I didnt adjust anything...how can I fix? :roll:

Your ISO is probably set higher. I like the grainyness of this picture but can understand how you'd be upset. I like the pose and the lighting very much. Good work!
 
you might try working with the healing tool and despeckle filter in PS or reshoot. are these digital? if your camera is setup for auto ISO it may be choosing 400 or more. if you can manually adjust the ISO, do so. depending on lighting, you may need a tripod or a different lighting source. just my .02
