Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi,
could not figure out how to add photo to my original post.
This is basic program but curious what the Pro level does and would allow me to do? Not that I am a Pro yet but curious. Would it let me edit just parts of it or adjust the whole photo? am I now supposed to bring it into another program to 'finish it up'? and what should I do to it?
thanks, Nancy

(*) Photoshop CS2/CS3/CS4 includes the merge of bracketed photos into 32-bit HDR with automatic alignment and read/write in 32-bit HDR image formats. Photoshop CS5 and CS6 add an option for ghost removal.
You can also visually compare Photomatix Essentials and Photomatix Pro through their introduction videos.
Note: If you buy a license of Photomatix Essentials, you can later upgrade to Photomatix Pro for the $60 price difference between both products.

As far as bringing it in to another program to finish it, that's up to you really. If you feel the image is perfect how it is, then you are done.

For me personally, I find photomatix introduces a lot of noise, so I take the photo in to photoshop and use the Dfine2 plug in, or just the photoshop noise reduction.

Also sometimes you will get some bad chromatic aberrations with photomatic and photoshop can easily take care of that.

Good luck and have fun with HDR =-)

Charts going to help me!

I forgot to mention that the response should be in verbiage that pertains to a ' roller coaster, hands in the air, fly by the seat of her pants" kind of person. I don't play bridge.
Parker, thanks for the chart, so sorry you spent 3 hrs doing it for me, what a guy! ;)
Ok, I actually understand some of what its saying....I'll research the other stuff.
thanks, any comment on photo, pp, crop....
Nancy

Even using Photomatix, HDR is very labor intensive.

Moving back and forth between Photomatix and Photoshop many times is normal for making high quality HDR images.

I've been known to add Topaz Adjust to the editing application mix too.

Thank you Keith. Anyone have a before, after and after 2nd pp so I can see what else can happen after Photomatix? I am not very experienced and to me my 'after' looks really good to me! But now, how would it look at a higher level?
Nancy

? Should rocks show more detail? I know it could get overlooked, but I don't think this is right photo for that.

I am too new to know what the photo can be. I posted a Great Blue Heron that was really good, and then some one adjusted black/white points (not balance) and viola, it was better. I never heard of 'point' before.
So am still learning what is available that I do not know what can be done.
Make any sense?
Nancy

Well this particular photo is more subjective, meaning you can edit it to how YOU see it, and what YOU think looks good.

Your edit- $Original-1.webp

Mine- $Edit-1.webp

I just took out some of the blue out of the water then I lightened and added more detail to the rocks.

Thanks Parker. I like the rocks but I like the darker blue in the water. Soooo, is that what Pro version would let me do, or did you do that part in another program?
anyone one else with their own before, after, after?
Nancy

^ That's my point, its what YOU think looks best. That was finished in photoshop. You cant selectively add detail in photomatix or selectively brighten as far as I know.
