70-200 vs 24-70

Thank you for all the replies. Currently I have the 80-200 18-55 and 50mm and my 80-200 is easily my workhorse. It hardly comes off unless I'm going to need something wide. But I do think I may jump on the 70-200 if possible

I have both - love them both. BUT - the 70-200 is usually on my camera ALOT longer than the 24-70

good luck

I think it's time to save up for a 70-200 and scrap the 80-200 that's been a solid companion for the last year.

Any thoughts or worries on an updated 70-200 2.8 VR III replacement?

I personally want the 70-200 2.8 but hear the f4 is just as clear if not better with no focus breathing issues.

Got convinced to get the 16-35 f4 over the 17-35 2.8 and have a horrible time with it in low light. Throw on my nifty fifty 1.8 prime and its like night and day so want to get the faster glass, but am wondering if an update is due...

Okay so let me propose this offer to everyone because I just want honest feedback. I'm a firm believer of upgrading lens before bodies.

So my question is with my current set up what would you upgrade to next?
The nikons 70-200 vrII OR 24-70
I'm in the same situation as you, I was set to get the 24-70 then I saw the replies on this thread recommending the 70-200. Now I'm back to zero again.

I myself was in the same boat. I finally made my decision today and bought the 70-200 2.8 because it gives me more flexibility. Both lenses are superb in every way but I like to shoot sports as well so that was my deciding factor choosing the 70-200 2.8 over the 24-70 2.8 but it was still a hard choice for me lol..

Ditto I'm sport/portraits but I do love shooting landscapes and sunsets while on vacation/traveling. I go to Aruba on vacation and my 18-55 just isn't as sharp as I'd like.
