A bit of sepia toning.

I am not a fan of toning but this tree photo was taken of an overcast day with subdued lighting. The image lacked contrast. I tried a bit of digital enhancing for blacker blacks and whiter whites but did not like that either.

I have had a few similar low contrast shots that looked better with sepia added, so I tried that. Perhaps it the color range of the eye but is just seem to look right.

That made me wonder how many others work with toning b&w photos.

I like "toning' B&W shots. That looks somewhat like Lightroom's "Creamtone" preset.

In this case, I think it is a good look.
 
In the "olden days", we used to use sepia, selenium, and other substances to enhance our prints. Yours looks pretty good.

Agree this works very well. Nicely done.
