A Black & White.....................Tulip?

Yes my fellow Photographers, you read that right, a black & White tulip, ok so they don't exist in real life, but when I was playing around with my photo editing this morning, I realized this looked really good.

I definitely agree that some flowers work in b&w. On this one, you've clipped two edges of the flower, which bugs me. I'd also try to bring the highlights down just a little. They are a little eye-burning as they stand.

I agree about the highlights, but like the way the photo is cropped. It doesn't tell me something is missing; it shows me the flower bursting out of the frame. BTW, Queen of the Night is a tulip that is frequently sold as "black" but it is really a very dark purple. But the quest for a black tulip continues . . .

this seems very soft to me.
