I'll have to agree that the first one is a little underexposed, but I still like it a lot. I prefer that one to the second one. If you just lightly correct the exposure on the first one I think it would rock. I think it has a lot of character and based on your other photos, I don't think you want it to be too bright. Lighten it up just a tad and see how it looks.

I'm no pro/expert but I think the first picture needs filled flash. The ambient light is noticeably brighter than the subject. Even if you want to darken the mood, I'd think the lighting should still be brighter on the subject.
