A couple of snowy friends

Got these in my backyard this morning. Sat out in the snow for a bit, very cold, until the animals decided I was just a harmless guy with a camera.

looks nice
but on #1, it seems a tad dark to me...maybe a third of a stop, but might be just me. and plus i have never shot in snow, so i dont know how close it was to be blown out.

what size lens were you using?
