any criticisms/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
desperately trying to learn and get better!

yes, Neat Image will help that out alot.

i would recommend some . . . different lighting, perhaps get a light off to the side, i understand if you don't have the equipment, but there are ways around it.

also, colored gels are a concert photogs best friend.

i like the first shot, how she almost pops out of the background, very nice!

thanks a lot for the replies!
yeah i don't really have other equipment
and my control was pretty limited.

I'd say keep the noise... removing noise only makes the image softer. I'd rather have noise than blurred quality.

It's asthough noise has suddenly become illegal or something.

I agree, I love to take high speed film {iso800} b/w and play with the grain. You can get real creative or real bad pics. Low light is the best I think. I do this now with my dslr set the speed up its not the same but close, if anyone can help me do better I would love to hear it.:banghead:

i think the rule is, grain is fine, but noise is strictly prohibited by order of the US government, or something like that... i just wish noise didnt have color

thank you for all the comments/feedback.

i agree with most that the second pic is kinda ehh.

i like both of them, but i wish she would have her eyes open in them... i got some concert photos like that a while back... it seems like they always shut their eyes whenever a photo is being taken...
