Back from Maliau Basin a week ago: Maliau Basin | Up Close with Nature

Violin beetle. Absolutely amazing beetle: Mormolyce sp. Violin beetles are ground beetles (Carabidae) in the subfamily Lebiinae. Never heard of this until I saw one. Wasn't sure it was a beetle either but good thing a friend of us had a insect guide book on hand:D

Awesome! The mantis and voilin beetle are really interesting.
 
Awesome shots and that violin beetle is amazing. I sometimes get so jealous of the cool critters you have in Malaysia.
