I tried playing with it a little and then ended up using the channel mixer to go B&W and it was my favorite of my results. Not sure if you like it B&W...

The first picture - the colors are all off and the post processing wasn't done properly - there's a green color cast on the picture .. The 2nd - like you said, the colors don't pop and also I do not like the unnatural pose Can you tell us more about the technicality of that photo? How it was taken, etc? Perhaps it can help with some feedback. She's an adorable child but I'd give this shoot another go.
