A few portraits

I took a lot of pictures for my final exam this year (I'm studying audiovisual arts, btw) and I'd like to share this one, one of the best. I was going to send it in for the portrait contest of June, but due to an e-mail problem I couldn't participate. Anyhow, I'd still like to know what you guys think of it.

I like it. He looks tired. Normally I wouldn't like the blockage on the right of the frame, but this somehow works for me.

Yes, you might want some background information about this photo. The thing on the right side is a hooded guardian, who looks down to him... He will never let the boy pass through the gate...
