A hunter in action

Got to watch this beautiful young hawk today. He was stalking some rabbits. He caught his kill over the hill from me, so, no pictures of him with it. However I did get a picture of his rabbit before he snatched it. The clouds made for some beautiful, but colorless, back drops.

That rabbit gave him a run for his money.

My bird has been identified, she's a young ( 2 year old ) Osprey. Not common to the area we are in right now.

nice set... looks like you needed a faster shutter speed on some of those photos.. generally 1/1000 for flying or fast moving subjects will give you good results.

Thanks for the tip! I felt a was a little slow, I'll try that if I cross her again while I'm still in the area.
