A little disappointed in Nikon's new release announcement...

Of course the D7000 has new capabilities/performance compared to the D300s. The D300s was just a minimal update to the D300 that was launched 8/23/2007, 3 years before the D7000 launched.

However, the D300/D300s still has some features and functions missing from the D7000.

The only thing I see missing is the FPS. In spight of the fewer focus sensors, the D7000 still AF faster than the D300s. But in all Honesty, as you mentioned the D300s is 3-4 years old and is still kicking butt! That is amazing.
