About forty five minutes from my home there is a set of waterfalls. They cut their way through
and then spill over the red Granite at the site.
At the top of the falls sits a small but sturdy little cabin. It is mostly gutted now, but there are still a surprising amount of books, personal correspondence and other belonging still left at the site. The books seem to rage from yoga and Hindu philosophy to more practical guides of how to travel through South America on a shoe string budget.
The only problem is that EVERYTHING is in GERMAN, lol
From what I have heard there was a German recluse, a writer, living there in the late 70's to early 80's. The place wasn't insulated but he had lines run for propane lighting. The wood stove he used for heat is long gone. I don't know if he died or simply left it all behind.
Anyway, if you are still with me this is just one of a few photos I took inside the building. Most are not suitable for this site due to the large amount of pornography dispersed throughout the house lol.
1.
The cascades in the river leading to the cabin and the top of the falls
2.
The first waterfall has cut a narrow channel in the rock
3.
The water then makes a second drop spreading over the face of granite.

This is a photo taken a few summers ago. It might help with the scale.
