taken with my D70, 50mm f/2.2, 1/20 second.
 
I think the color in the background is stealing attention away from the subject. I like the idea but I'd like to see just a little more DOF.
 
shame about the blue background however i like the angle and the way the focus goes gradually further down the neck of violin... nice shot !
 
yes the boldness of the blue draws the attention and that is not suppoed to be the focal point correct?
 
The part that is in focus should be (well no, could be) bigger. I mean: in the frame. The DOF is ok, IMO.

I agree on the blue.

Funny: I quite LIKE the blue.
Aperture could have been a tad smaller to get a BIT more DOF, but all in all I like the idea and also exposure, including the background. To me the colour adds to the picture and does not distract too much. The shallow DOF distracts me more.
