This is lovely! The detail in the wings shows their delicacy. I love that you were able to capture him on an equally delicate-looking, slender vertical line like this. The fact that he has this bright red body against the pale green is just a happy coincidence.

Thank you very much for the kind words. The funny thing was that I was actually chasing a blue heron, standing behind a little blind of shrubs on the fields edge. That little guy flew right in front of me and landed. I framed him up, had to take a step back to get to my minimum focus distance on the 200-500mm and everything else just worked out. Never got the blue heron that day. Cheers!
