A trip to the Woods - Ashridge (7 pics)

well, i went to the woords today amidsts the storms... im please with the results as i decided to shoot in TIFFs which i can on ly fit 72 of on my card, i only ended up taking 30 in the time i was there, in between the heavy rain....

Some ants which were about to fly before the storm:

A Butterfly...

A Fly on thistle..

And finally some grasshoppers...

CnC? that may be hard: err dont sit on an ants nest like that you are definatly braver than me. I like the first grasshopper very much, the atmosphere and the right hand crop suit the pic great, the second one i am not so keen on, possibly it is the grain making the subject dissapear a bit? perhaps you could have cepiaed it? Because i like ants i like the ants, but the butterfly is poss my fave because it obviously took a lot of patience getting to it and it does not look camera shy and looks at us nicly.

Nice series duncanp! The butterfly and fly-on-thistle are probably my faves, but I really like all of them.

The first and third photo of the ants are really good. Something tells me that they were also good in colour, but I also quite like your treatment here.

The butterfly is beautiful because butterfly are beautiful, and if you can capture them like you did here, you just cannot go wrong, and I like the fly on the thistle because it reminds me of my_thread_here .
