A few holiday-makers brave the windy beach at Fleetwood, Lancashire, at low tide, under a dramatic sky recently cleared of rain. Ah, the pleasures of a British Bank Holiday weekend!

Fleetwood is pretty grim at the best of times , but not as grim as Knott End where we used to go for days out or watching my Dad fishing as we used to call it!

My Mum used to bung us on the ferry and go across to Fleetwood for fish and chips from the cafe by the ferry terminal - is that still there?

It certainy is Tempra. Now there's a new all-enclosed, red and white ferry too. I photographed it about its business only this afternoon!
