The crater is about a kilometer across. Viewed from the Hawai'i Volcano Observatory. The acid in the rain is absorbed from the outgassing of the volcano as it sweeps over the open vents.
 
thats is very interesting and nicely captured. definelty something you wouldn't see everyday. good job
