Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
i simply wanted to know if it looks "amateur" to edit your pictures on the PC after you took them? does a good photographer shouldn't be using programs to adjust his pictures... or could some say there's no problem with it?

Retouching has been done since the 19th century. Everyone edits their pictures, every single professional retouches their images if they're shooting digital. It's what you do. From color correction on your PC to darkroom printing.

This may spark a big debate but the bottom line is every single photo you see gets edited in some way. If you shoot with a P+S camer and send it to a minilab they will edit it for you. Wether it is extensive editing in PS or just a little color and density correction it will be done to all photos.

And if you have a very expensive camera it's normal settings are to have the photo come out bland to give you a good base from which to work in post production.

And as SwitchFx has partially mentioned Photoshop or other post production editing is simply a natural extension of what used to be done in the darkroom. Even back in the film days it was still possible to adjust brightness contrast colour balance, and even minor touchups during developing.
