Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering what everyone's general opinions on Adobe's .dng format are? I'm thinking about converting all my raw images to this format because they take up alot less room (about 2mb vs. 8 mb).

You still get all the benifits from raw if you are using photoshop's converter, and RawShooter Essentials also supports the format.

I think Adobe is probably more reliable in supporting their .dng format, than Canon will be in supporting .cr2

Does anyone routinely use the .dng format? Are there any drawbacks to using it that I might be missing?

Thanks!
Julie

After looking over the DNG specsheet on Adobe, I would think your fine doing that as long as your DNG converter is set to a lossless format.
