advice for next shoot

I'm a little obsessed with this bridge and will be going back soon to shoot it again. Looking for any suggestions on working with the late-afternoon orange-y light - exposures? filters? It looks just lovely and the photos aren't capturing the warmth.
Photoshop suggestions welcome too, but mainly I want to learn to get it better right from the beginning...thanks in advance!

I don't know if those are clouds, but right above the bridge it looks like there might be a few smudges. When you're shooting against a clear sky setting, make sure your lense is always PERFECT.

it also appears you have a fairly large piece of dust in the shot a little above center (in both images)
