taking a few kids tomorrow to a roller skating rink. I have used my old PAS inside before and the pics come out very blah....

I have a tripod, so I was thinking to mount it and then what? To allow more light?? Should I use a larger Aperture? I want a fast shutter speed because the kids will be moving? Or am I totally going in the wrong direction?

Thanks for the tips!

without knowing the camera & lens you plan on using and the artistic effect you have in mind, it is hard to answer your question.

for example, if you want to stop action then having a fast enough shutter is your priority, and you need to tweak the aperture and iso setting to compensate. this means you will probably need to shoot with a large aperture and a high iso, like 800, 1600, etc.
