I took a ride out to Eastham this evening for some sunset shots. Eastham faces north-east, so I had some lovely light with the sun behind me and, interestingly, it's directly opposite Liverpool airport and right in landing planes' paths over the river.
I was framing a shot of some railings and an information stone when I heard the familiar rumble of a plane approaching. I waited until it was in the frame, then set my 30-second exposure off to catch some light trails.
I'm not amazingly fond of the shot itself — I think it's a bit too busy — but the pattern the plane's lights made was very interesting.
